The fascist response to a crumbling economy

I've been busy with my day job the last two weeks. In the meantime the main news has been the banking and business failures we've become accustomed to, as well as the continued Israeli genocide in Gaza. Other than that, we haven't seen too much as we await Obama's first 100 days of political "shock and awe" and the "test" predicted by Biden and Colin Powell last fall. George, at Urban Survival also predicts a looming "test" that "seems destined to impact energy and food supplies here in the USA." I suspect that the country will feel very different a month from now, and not for the better. Fate favors those who prepare.

Steve Quayle reported on Alex Jones a few weeks ago from a good source that we were five minutes from having martial law declared on October 5 as part of the threat to pass the Bailout Bill One (more to follow). (The bailout was a fraudulent "bait and switch" operation.) His sources say that martial law plans are "truly draconian," and "worse than we can imagine." Previously Sen. Jim Inhofe and Rep. Brad Sherman disclosed these threats. We've seen an ominous, continuing preparation for martial law and the use of military forces in the US for many years, and especially the last three.

Paul Craig Roberts continues to speak the truth about our economic situation. It's not pretty. "What we are witnessing is a once great power engaging in fantasy to disguise from itself that it is a failed state." America is moving into uncharted territory. Is this the end? Are we witnessing the largest financial train wreck in history?

If for some reason you still have significant holdings in the dollar or dollar-denominated assets, you need to think through the implications of Ten Major Threats Facing the Dollar in 2009. Note this graph of the dramatice increase in the monetary base. We've reached the point of diminished returns for each new dollar printed, which will most likely end in hyperinflation of the dollar. An ex-policy maker for the Bank of England predicts a massive dollar collapse. These graphs are startling. Since the dollar is still the world's reserve currency, we'll see something unique in history -- worldwide hyperinflation along with global insolvency and depression. Similar conditions produced World War II as a "solution."

Major financial forecasters, as well as Merrill Lynch, recommend moving from the dollar into real assets. This history of paper currencies shows why. The British Pound has lost 98.8% of its value since it was introduced, and the Dollar has lost 97.8%. Government fiscal panic could speed up the dollar's demise. If you think the dollar is immune to being blown away by hyperinflation, Hank Paulson has some zero-interest T-Bills he'd like to sell you. Opening the mint to the unlimited production of gold coins may easily lay the foundation for economic recovery.

"Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value - zero." (Voltaire, 1694-1778)

We have been bankrupted by twin pincers of the the Military-Industrial-Media complex that President Eisenhower warned us about on one hand, and the Ponzi-scheme welfare state on the other. Social Security, Medicare and Federal Treasury debt are nothing but Ponzi-schemes with current obligations being paid out of current payments. Those owed the remaining liabilities will get the empty bag full of promises.

Obama's stimulus plan will push the bailout over $8 Trillion, and may be marching the US economy to the gallows. "The upcoming Financial Stimulus package courtesy of the new Economic dream team has left numerous economists and analysts quaking in their boots. We are seeing predictions of hyperinflation, the destruction of the dollar, the flight of U.S. creditors, the prospect of widespread civil unrest and a descent in to a Greater Depression. . . . Judging by his actions so far, Obama has done absolutely nothing but continue the transfer of wealth from the American taxpayer to his Wall St. campaign contributors. There has been absolutely zero positive impact on the real economy as the increasingly horrific indicators continue to mount and the prospect of an unprecedented Depression continues to rise over the horizon."

The problem is not just at the federal level. Forty-four states project combined budget shortfalls of $350 billion for the next two years! You can count on this assessment being overly optimistic, because most conventional forecasters will be projecting economic recovery to begin during this time period. That is magical thinking.

As the 21st century progresses, a bankrupt America, bereft of a meaningful manufacturing base, could easily be surpassed by China as the preeminent world power. 2009 is likely to be the year the world recognizes significant decline in of the US. A new world order is emerging, and it won't be good for America. Henry Kissinger, perennial dark-side agent, even calls this a great opportunity for Obama to help create a new world order. See the video. European leaders seem to concur. Obamas has several long-time Trilateral Commission, New World Order advocates prominantly placed in his administration.

As I write, we're in the last hours of George Bush's disastrous presidency. I'm astounded that this despicable excuse for a human being still retains a 20% approval rating. My prediction five years ago that Bill Clinton's tenure would seem successful, and relatively benign in comparison, has proven true. The vicious, vindictive Clinton's would have loved to have at their disposal the police state erected by Dick Cheney and his sock-puppet Bush. Now, an even more dangerous Obama, gifted in hypnotic rhetorical skills and surrounded by an aura of hope, promises to be Bush-Clinton-Bush on steroids.

Always remember, Obama is totally beholden to the Powers That Be for his presidency. He was not given the keynote speech at the DNC four years ago when he was still a member of the Illinois state legislature for no reason. He had already been picked. Obama's chief advisor, Zbigniev Brzensinski, served the same role for Jimmy Carter. His Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, is likely a Mossad agent. Obama's staff is like a Clinton administratin reunion, with dangerous Bush holdovers like SecDef Gates. The thieves on Wall Street gave three times the money to Obama as McCain. Truly, the more things "change," the more they will stay the same.

What we will be getting more of is fascism. I don't use this term lightly or carelessly. It refers to state control of the economy with nominal private ownership. Fascism was the univeral response to the Great Depression of the 1930's by western nations, including the US. Its economic ideology and justification is Keynesianism. John Maynard Keynes disdained markets and glorified state action is the means for dealing with the business cycles. So politicians love it.

Both parties have brought us fascism. With Bush ramping up the police state, and most people thinking he and the Republicans are "capitalists," capitalism and the free market get the undeserved blame for our economic crisis and our imperialistic wars. Ayn Rand warned of this 50 years ago in her seminal novel, Atlas Shrugged. What we see unfolding in Washington is fiction becoming fact. If you want to understand the difference between freedom and economic slavery, read or re-read Atlas Shrugged. You'll see why the politician's constant bailouts and restrictions will not cure, but kill the economy.

More on the Russo-Georgian Conflict

Sorry. For unknown techinical reasons, all the urls for the hotlinks in the text have disappeared. No time to hunt them down again. Try Google!
I continue to be amazed to find myself taking the Russian side of a conflict. Having learned how to "duck and cover" in the early days of the Cold War, I never thought I'd side with the successor to the USSR. But the US-backed (if not instigated) Georgian attack on South Ossetia is just another NeoCon folly that brings us closer to the brink of war.

To sharpen my thinking, God has placed close friends in my life who put great faith in the veracity of the Mainstream Media. They really believe that Fox News is "fair and balanced." They fail to realize that Fox vs. "the liberal media" is just an extension of the false alternatives of liberal-conservative and Democrat-Republican that confuse thinking and really mask reality.

My credulous friends help me realize afresh that the American Mainstream Media is every bit as effective as Pravda was in the USSR, maybe more so. In the USSR most people understood that Pravda was putting out the party line and developed appropriate skepticism. In the US many people think that freedom and competition assure that we have courageous reporters risking everything to bring us the truth. Those who believe that don't understand the consolidation of media in multinational corporations and the compromises made by those journalists who grab the golden ring of celebrity status to become media stars.

Back to the Russo-Georgia situation: As usual, many astute observers provide more cogent analysis than I could. Patrick Buchanan exposes the hypocrisy of the Bush administration and the NeoCons. "How would we have reacted if Moscow had brought Western Europe into the Warsaw Pact, established bases in Mexico and Panama, put missile defense radars and rockets in Cuba, and joined with China to build pipelines to transfer Mexican and Venezuelan oil to Pacific ports for shipment to Asia? And cut us out? If there were Russian and Chinese advisers training Latin American armies, the way we are in the former Soviet republics, how would we react? Would we look with bemusement on such Russian behavior?"

Mike Whitney looks in depth at the geopolitics of the situation in "Putin Walks into a Trap." This amazing analysis talks extensively about Obama's chief foreign policy advisor, Zbigniew Brzensinski, and his role in this "Grand Chessboard" strategy. Evidently Putin is in the globalists' gun sites now because he gave a speech in Munich two years ago where "he declared unequivocally that he rejected the basic tenets of the Bush Doctrine and US global hegemony." Read the excerpts from Putin's speech and see what you think.

Whitney also gives us a glimpse of the refocus of the "war on terror" that will come if Obama wins the Presidency. Zbig and his crew will redirect America's war efforts into Eurasia. McCain and the NeoCons seem more likely to keep the focus on the Middle East. Given the Bush administration's actions, it looks more like "both/and" instead of "either/or" to me. An Obama administration will surely disappoint his anti-war supporters, offering "voters a choice of wars, not a choice against war."

Paul Craig Roberts wonders whether American actions will destroy the world. See also this excellent interview with him where he discusses the NeoCons desire to nuke Iran. Follow up with this report from South Ossetia from a retired Lt. Colonel from the US military. And this one gives more insight into how the NeoCon think tanks have been instrumental in backing Russia into a corner. Or this UK reporter or this one on the ground. Gold guru Jim Sinclair discusses some of the financial ramifications of the "Georgia debacle." I'd be remiss if I didn't call your attention to Justin Raimondo's continuing analysis of the situation.

If you saw the Olympics opening ceremonies, you saw President Bush at the stadium. What you probably didn't see were these pictures or these where he looks a little bit . . . well, I'll let you decide what you think. (This is the man who will decide if we start a war with Iran, or Russia, or Pakistan.)

Whether we shortly go to war or not, will we retain our freedoms? Paul Craig Roberts doesn't think so. Nor does Charley Reese. It's up to us, folks.

Starting a war to divert the public's attention from economic problems is an old tactic. That's happened to this blog for the last week. If you need a financial tsunami fix, read "Wag the Dog: How to Conceal Massive Economic Collapse." Perhaps our wise leaders are starting more wars to put the unemployed masses to work with a new military draft. It worked for FDR.

Moving to the Brink of War

The situations with Georgia and Iran are so precarious, I feel the need to post links to a few articles that will help you cut through the stupid propaganda spewing from the Mainstream Media. Though we are generally powerless to affect what our crazed -- no, evil -- leaders are doing, we can do something. We can spread awareness. We can pray. If enough people figure out what's happening, spread the word, and contact their political representatives, then maybe we can stop the deadly path we're on.

If you think I'm exaggerating, then I ask you to research deeper than the trite lies the MSM is feeding the sheep.

Today is the 27th anniversary of the sale first IBM PC. Personal computers have revolutionized our way of life. Communicating with you like this, in a no-cost, instant, easily transferable form via the internet is unprecedented, and offers the first real check on the power elites in history. They've always kept their power by controlling the flow of information. Masses of bloggers and emailers are circumventing the gatekeepers' matrix with real information.

If we will use the power we have, and not let them take it away, perhaps we can steer the planet away from the brink of mass annihilation and totalitarianism, and into the light of human potential unleashed in the creativity and productivity that freedom allows. So do your part, and pass this information on to the conscious, caring people you know.

I have several excellent articles to help you understand what's happening in Georgia. Read them so you can help enlighten your friends when they yammer about how bad it is that Russia "invaded Georgia." Justin Raimondo remarks on the anti-Russian bias of the Western media as he clearly points out who the real aggressor is. It's the US-backed Georgia.

Earl of Stirling calls the Georgian attack on South Ossetia the beginning of World War III. He details the 1,000+ US Marine trainers and 1,000 Israeli mercenaries helping the Georgian army. Read to the end as he shifts to the problem with Iran. It seems they have advanced biological weapons that make nuclear weapons unnecessary.

The blockade the US, England and France are setting up on Iran is an act of war designed to provoke a response from the Iranians. Surely this will be a case of wishing you had not gotten what you asked for. "This is a most serious game of military brinkmanship with major nuclear armed powers that have profound objections to the neo-con grand strategy and to western control of all of the Middle East's oil supply." His Addendum 2 on Iran's advanced biowar capability should take the wind out of any hawk's sails.

Stratfor explains how the Russo-Georgian War shows how the balance of power in Eurasia has clearly shifted to Russia. The Bear is back! You can clear your palate with Karl Schwarz's "American Lies & American Delusions." He's not optimistic the the overly credulous "Boobus Americanus" (as H.L. Mencken dubbed the American middle class many years ago) is capable of waking up from its distractions and help change the course of history.

William Engdahl goes into more detail about "The Puppet Masters Behind Georgia's President Saakashvili." "The controversy over the Georgian surprise military attacks on South Ossetia and Abkhazia on 8.8.08 makes a closer look at the controversial Georgian President and his puppet masters important. An examination shows 41 year old Mikhail Saakashvili to be a ruthless and corrupt totalitarian who is tied to not only the US NATO establishment, but also to the Israeli military and intelligence establishment."

Spiked-Online goes deeper into "the messy truth behind the morality tale" in Georgia. It seems that Bush's phony "war on terror" has helped destabilize the region and bring more innocent suffering and detruction. Just another day at the office.

Where's the media in all this? Why aren't they helping us get an accurate picture of what's going on? It seems that "America's Israeli Occupied Media" is falling down on its job and doing its dead-level best to define all situations from the Israeli point of view.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Barack Obama is toeing the party line right along with McCain. According to Eric Walberg (and echoed by countless other progressives), "Barack Obama as the candidate promising change is revealing his true colours, much to the despair of anyone actually expecting any change." Again, we find the real power behind Obama's throne is his chief foreign policy advisor, Zbigniew Brzesinski. Zbig, well-known for his virulent anti-Russian stance, just compared Putin to Hitler. Anyone hoping Obama is a candidate of peace is living in Dreamland. Both McCain and Obama are pawns of the global elite.

My initial curiosity and somewhat favorable opinion of Obama when he was still an "empty suit" offering a "change" from the pathetic, destructive Presidency of George Bush, vanished long ago. His backers, his policies, his beliefs, the skeletons in his closet -- all make me incredibly pessimistic about his Presidency, IF he makes it through.

I've long expected the "swift-boating" of Obama. Jerome Corsi, who help write the swift boat book on John Kerry, just released "Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality." It's already number 1 on the NY Times bestseller list. Devvy Kidd wonders when the National Inquirer will finish the job on Obama that it did on John Edwards? Another writer speculates that Obama's Pearl Harbor event will happen soon after the convention. From what I've seen, there's plenty of stuff left over to pay the same compliment to John McCain. Hmm. Maybe that's why Hillary and Romney merely suspended their campaigns?
